5) shutter speed

- Adjustment of speed to control the amount of time spent when the imaging medium is exposed to light to reduce the amount of image blurring from motion.

6) ISO speed

- It is used on modern cameras as an indication of system's gain from light to numerical output and to control automatic exposure system. The higher the ISO number, the greater the film's sensitivity to light.

7) Metering

- The photographer may set exposure automatically. The correct exposure can be achieved with the use of a separate light metering the device. The amount of light translated into a usable aperture and shutter speed will need the meter to be adjusted by setting the "film speed" or ISO sensitivity into the meter.

8)White balance

- On digital cameras, the colour temperature which is associated with a given set of lighting conditions thus ensuring that white light in the frame appears natural. On mechanical based film-based cameras, white balance is used to register natural colouration of the image.
